It has LED lights built in and is powered by water pressure, so no battery or power are needed. The water pressure needs to be between 30 Psi and 70 Psi, but should not exceed 74Psi. The Brightness of the light varies by the water pressure. Most homes in the US have water pressure between 50 Psi and 70 Psi.
No tools are needed as it is very easy to install. Simply unscrew the hose from your existing handheld unit and attach your new LED shower head.
